Diontae Johnson Avoids Long-Term Injury
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson appeared to sustain a potentially crushing injury at the conclusion of the team's Week 2 loss to Las Vegas on the final play of the game. But per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Johnson avoided a long-term injury and his status for the team's Week 3 matchup against Cincinnati is up in the air. Johnson had a dominant performance against the Raiders, snagging nine catches for 105 yards; in each of the first two weeks, he has seen double-digit targets. Should Johnson be unavailable in the short-term, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool are the two likeliest beneficiaries, while James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud figure to see their snap count rise, as well. Check back for updates on Johnson's status as they become available.
