Diontae Johnson Has Big Game, Appears To Injure Knee In Week 2
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson turned in a big performance in a 26-17 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2, but it wasn't all good news. Johnson caught nine of 12 targets for 105 yards, but he may have injured his knee on the final play of the game. With the Steelers trying to get into scoring range with 20 seconds left on the clock, Johnson caught an 11-yard pass near the left sideline but was unable to get up on his own and had to be helped off of the field by two people. Per NFL rules, the referees initiated a 10-second run-off after the injury, effectively ending the game. Stay tuned for more details regarding the severity of Johnson's injury. Losing the star wideout would be a blow to the Pittsburgh offense as he has 14 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown through two games. An absence of any length of time would benefit both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool.
