Diontae Johnson Looking To Establish Early Role With Steelers
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Diontae Johnson made a name for himself both on offense and special teams at Toledo. However, as a newcomer in the NFL, Johnson has a lot of work to do to prove he can be an every down pass-catcher, while still maintaining his return abilities. “I’m trying to show them I can be consistent and show them what I can do on the field at all times,” Johnson said in an interview with TribLive.com. He'll have to compete with Donte Moncrief, James Washington, Ryan Switzer, and Eli Rogers for snaps and targets to supplement JuJu Smith-Schuster. While Johnson was a 2019 third-round pick, he is nothing more than a dynasty option and has next to no redraft value unless injuries cripple the Steelers.
