4 years agoNew York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu is back in the lineup and leading off after missing Thursday’s game. The Yankees wanted LeMahieu to get more live at-bats in before rejoining the lineup after the 32-year-old missed time due to a positive coronavirus test. LeMahieu took batting practice against Jordan Montgomery on the team’s off-day on Thursday, and the Yankees are now comfortable slotting LeMahieu back in the lineup. LeMahieu will look to build off of an impressive 2019 season that saw him post a .327 batting average with a career-high 26 home runs, and he’s in a strong position to accumulate counting stats at the top of the potent Yankees order.--Sam Chinitz
