4 years agoNew York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu hit a pair of home runs against the Rays on Tuesday, giving him four home runs over 24 games this season. LeMahieu missed nine games between August 15 and August 29 with a thumb injury, but he hasn’t missed a beat since rejoining to the lineup with at least one hit in each game since his return. LeMahieu’s .055 wOBA-xwOBA and .442 BABIP suggest that he’s benefited from some luck this year, and his 33.3% hard-hit rate is down 15 points from last season, so he’s unlikely to remain this hot over the rest of the season. Still, it’s hard to complain about a 5.7% swinging-strike rate and LeMahieu’s power is likely to rebound over the rest of the season. As a result, fantasy players should expect LeMahieu to post an OPS above .800 for the rest of the season and can count on him to produce as the playoffs approach.--Sam Chinitz
