DL Hall Called Up By Orioles, Could Start Saturday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles top pitching prospect DL Hall has been called up to the big leagues and appears likely to make a start tomorrow against the Tampa Bay Rays. The top 100 prospect has shown elite swing-and-miss stuff in the minors this season, racking up 114 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched in Triple-A. That said, he has struggled mightily with control, walking 44 batters over those 70 innings and posting a WHIP of 1.49. He was scheduled to start tomorrow for Triple-A Norfolk, so it seems likely that the Orioles will keep him on that schedule. Hall provides as much upside as any pitching prospect this season, but he also comes with a lot of risk. If you can afford the risk, he is worthy of an add in deeper leagues and could be a useful streamer in all leagues.
