Doctors Recommend Surgery For Seranthony Dominguez
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez (elbow) has been recommended to have Tommy John surgery. The hard-throwing righty originally hurt his elbow last June, but was able to recover without surgery despite missing the remainder of 2019. Dominguez only pitched one inning of Spring Training this year before reporting tightness in his elbow and being shut down. Despite the recommendation, it is still unclear if Dominguez will undergo surgery, as tests are unable to confirm a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament. At this point, however, it appears Dominguez will be out for most of 2020 even without surgery. He could miss most of 2021 as well if he does go under the knife later this year, making him an afterthought in fantasy circles.
