Dodgers Avoid Arbitration With Julio Urias
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers avoided salary arbitration on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $8 million deal with starting pitcher Julio Urias, according to a source. It was an outstanding season for the left-hander in 2021, as he went 20-3 with a 2.96 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 26.2% strikeout rate in 32 starts covering a career-high 185 2/3 innings pitched for the Blue. Urias didn't allow consistent hard contact and was able to keep the ball in the yard. The 25-year-old isn't a big strikeout artist, but he'll be solid in the ERA and WHIP departments for a strong Dodgers team. Fantasy managers will probably have to overpay for Urias this year because of his 20-win season.
