Dodgers Making A Push For Freddie Freeman
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers talks with free-agent first baseman Freddie Freeman are intensifying on Friday, according to sources. The sides remain in contact on a deal would bring the reigning World Series champion back home to his native California. The Dodgers and Atlanta Braves have been the most consistent pursuers and most likely landing spots for Freeman. It remains a surprise that the Braves didn't lock him up a while ago, and the belief is they had been offering around $140 million for a five-year deal. The 32-year-old is one of the best all-around hitters, and adding him to an already dangerous Dodgers lineup would make their offense that much better. Freeman won the NL MVP in 2020 and hit .300/.393/.503 with 31 home runs, 120 runs, 83 RBI and eight steals in 695 plate appearances in 2021.
