6 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers remain optimistic of reaching a new deal with starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, according to a source. Both sides want this to work out and an agreement doesn't necessarily have to come by 4 pm ET on Friday, which is the new deadline for Kershaw to decide if he will opt out of his 2019 option. It looks like the two sides will reach an agreement on a short-term extension sometime soon. The All-Star left-hander has dealt with some injuries in recent seasons and wasn't quite as dominant in 2018, but he remains one of the best pitchers in baseball. Staying in LA is probably the best thing for his fantasy value moving forward, too.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
