Mookie Betts Likely To Return Before All-Star Break
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers managers Dave Roberts is "very optimistic" star outfielder Mookie Betts (ribs) will be back before the All-Star break on July 16. According to Roberts, the 29-year-old could be limited to serving as the team's primary designated hitter as throwing has been more bothersome for him than swinging. He was placed on the injured list with a cracked rib on June 18 and resumed baseball activities on Wednesday. The former Boston Red Sox outfielder slashed .273/.349/.535 with 17 home runs, 40 RBI, 53 runs scored, and six stolen bases across 275 plate appearances. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Betts and expect him to return to the active roster soon. Eddy Alvarez and Trayce Thompson will continue to see an uptick in at-bats while Betts is sidelined.
