Dolphins Hire Frank Smith As Offensive Coordinator
3 years agoThe Miami Dolphins hired former Los Angeles Chargers run-game coordinator/offensive line coach Frank Smith as their offensive coordinator on Monday, according to a source. Smith has a strong history of developing tight ends and offensive linemen, which feels a big need for the Dolphins. Before working for the Bolts, Smith was the tight ends coach for the Las Vegas Raiders for three years from 2018-20. He has also coached tight ends for the Chicago Bears from 2015-17 after getting his start in the NFL as an assistant with the New Orleans Saints. New head coach Mike McDaniel said that he will call the offensive plays, but Smith will be heavily involved in game-planning.
