3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's win over the Tampa Bay Rays. German tossed five innings of three-run ball, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out five batters. The 28-year-old registered 13 whiffs, eight of them on his curveball, and a strong 30 percent called strikes plus whiffs percentage. German allowed a two-run homer in the first frame but kept the scoreboard clean until the fifth inning. He's been a strong member of the Yankee rotation, pitching to a 3.27 ERA with a minuscule 4.5 percent walk rate. He is lined up to face a tough Red Sox lineup on June 6.--Tim Capurso
