4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German pitched seven shutout innings to earn the victory over the Texas Rangers Thursday. German allowed six hits, striking out five batters with no walks issued, improving his record to 4-2. The 28-year-old threw 61 of 87 pitches for strikes and generated 17 whiffs to earn a strong 36 percent CSW, called strikes plus whiffs. German threw the changeup a career-high 26 times, racking up two strikeouts and a 78.5 MPH average exit velocity on the offering. He's been one of the Yankees' more consistent starters and should remain a solid, middle-of-the-rotation fantasy starter for managers, even if his ERA does regress slightly.--Tim Capurso
