3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German (tooth) has been scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start against the Seattle Mariners. Per manager Aaron Boone, German had to undergo an emergency root canal and won't be able to make his start, though he'll be available out of the bullpen. Boone noted that the right-hander could take the mound for a start on Friday, so it doesn't sound like anything too serious. Nick Nelson will make a spot start for New York on Wednesday. Nelson owns a 9.75 ERA in 12 innings and is off the streaming radar, even against a strikeout-prone Mariners' lineup.--Tim Capurso
