5 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced Saturday from London that starter Domingo German will return to the rotation either Wednesday or Thursday next week. The Yankees face the Mets at Citi Field on Wednesday, and the Rays on Thursday in Tampa Bay, so it would make more sense for him to return in the AL matchup where he wouldn't need to take at-bats. German has been out of action since June 8 with a left hip flexor strain after dominating the first two months of the season on the mound. He sits at a 9-2 record with a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 77 strikeouts in 70.0 IP this year for the Pinstripes as he looks to continue a breakout season upon his return. Owners in weekly leagues should insert German back into lineups for next week, and he should be scooped up off waivers wherever dropped.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
