Dominic Smith Belts 10th Homer On Monday
3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in the Mets 15-11 win over the Reds in 11 innings on Monday. Smith has had a rough season overall but has shown signs of consistent production at the plate recently. Over his last 15 games, he is hitting .291/.333/.582 with four homers, 10 RBI, and 13 runs scored. He is also 5-for-14 (.357) over the past three games with two doubles and a home run. If Smith can continue to string together a few more productive games, in line with his 2020 production, he may be worthy of starting in shallow leagues. He should, nevertheless, be rostered in most formats given his potential. This recent string of hitting could be a sign of things to come for Smith for the remainder of the season.
