Dominic Smith Blasts Two Home Runs On Saturday
4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/outfielder Dominic Smith went 2-for-4 with two home runs on Saturday in Grapefruit League action against the Astros. Smith, who had been dealing with a wrist issue earlier in spring training, is finally heating up at the plate just in time for Opening Day. He now has four HR in Grapefruit League action with a .237/.256/.632 slash line across 38 spring training at-bats. Smith had a huge breakout campaign in 2020 and can potentially return 30-plus HR and 80-90 RBI over the course of a full season. While there are some concerns with playing time for Smith heading into the 2021 campaign, he should be penciled in as the Mets starting left fielder batting fifth in a great lineup more often than not.
