4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith (wrist) took batting practice on Friday, one day ahead of his schedule to do so. Smith has been held out of the Mets' past few Grapefruit League games due to a sore right wrist. The injury does not appear to be serious and reports indicate that Smith should be back in Grapefruit League action shortly. Once he returns to action, Smith will get significant playing time ahead of Opening Day as the Mets' starting left fielder. While Smith can potentially return 30-plus HR and 80-90 RBI over the course of a full season, he may lose precious at-bats if he is forced to share time in left field with Brandon Nimmo and/or J.D. Davis, or is removed late in games for defense during the 2021 season. As a result, managers drafting Smith around his ADP of 118 should be aware of this potential playing time risk.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
