4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Mets' 7-2 win over the Braves on Saturday. Smith's homer was his ninth of the season, a break out campaign for him. He is now slashing .329/.392/.632 through 44 games (41 starts) with nine homers, 41 RBI, and a 1.024 OPS. Smith's breakout is even more impressive considering the fact that the Mets utilized him as a part-time player when the season began. As we head into the final eight games of the season, the Mets will certainly keep Smith's bat in the lineup.
