Dominic Smith Collects Two More Hits
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Mets' 5-3 loss to the Phillies on Friday. Smith has broken out in 2020 to the tune of a .308/.385/.625 line with seven home runs, 12 doubles, and 27 RBI in just 104 at-bats. Although the Mets' peculiar trade deadline acquisition of Todd Frazier could potentially cut into Smith's playing time, the Mets will likely continue to find ways to keep his bat in the lineup. Along with Michael Conforto, Smith has been the Mets' most consistent hitter in 2020. As such, while Smith may see a more frequent day off with Frazier in the mix, he should still get a good amount of playing time either in left field, at designated hitter or at first base.
