Dominic Smith Comes Off Bench And Drives In Run
3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith, hitting .340 against lefties this season and 1-for-1 with a home run lifetime against Los Angeles Dodgers starter Julio Urias, did not start the game on Friday. Despite the questionable decision to bench Smith in a huge game, he entered the game in the fifth inning and eventually went 1-for-3 with an RBI single. Smith has been one of the Mets more productive hitters over the past two weeks with the offense really struggling. Over his last 15 games, he is hitting .308 with seven RBI in 52 at-bats. Smith should be back in the lineup on Saturday when the Mets take on Walker Buehler and the Dodgers. With a tough matchup scheduled for Saturday, Smith is a strong fade in daily formats.
