Dominic Smith Crushes Another Home Run
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith hit his third home run of the Season on Wednesday in the Mets 11-6 win over the Nationals. Smith went 2-for-4 with the solo HR and a two-run double, as he drove in three runs and scored twice. Though he has been inconsistent at the plate recently, Smith is getting regular playing time now that Yoenis Cespedes has opted out of the 2020 season. Smith has a .243/.348/.595 line with three HR and 11 RBI on the year. The Mets will continue to take every opportunity to keep Smith's bat in the lineup. Smith can be inserted into the lineup at left field, DH, or at first base, on days Pete Alonso is off or playing DH. Owners in need of help at first base or in the outfield, or looking for a cheap source of HR and RBI should scoop up Smith.
