Dominic Smith Goes Deep Again
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith hit his second home run of the Season on Friday in the Mets 4-3 loss to the Marlins. Smith went 1-for-4 in the contest, with a solo home run. Smith is now batting .227/.345/.545 with two home runs and eight RBI in just 22 at-bats. With the road to playing time less crowded for Smith due to the Yoenis Cespedes season opt-out, he gains fantasy relevance in mixed and NL-only formats. The Mets will take every opportunity to keep Smith's bat in the lineup regularly. Smith can be inserted into the lineup at left field, DH, or first base on days Pete Alonso is off or playing DH. Owners looking for a cheap source of HR and RBI should scoop up Smith quickly while his FAAB price tag remains low.
