Dominic Smith Leads Mets In Doubleheader Sweep
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith continued his breakout 2020 campaign by going a combined 3-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in the Mets' doubleheader sweep over the Yankees on Friday. Smith's homer was the go-ahead home run in the first game of the twin bill. Smith is now batting .333 on the season, with a .419 on-base percentage to go with seven HR, 24 RBI, and 11 doubles. The Mets are keeping Smith's bat in the lineup, either at designated hitter, first base or left field, given his offensive breakout. If still available in redraft formats, owners should quickly grab the former first-round pick who has clearly carved out an everyday role with the Mets.
