4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith sat out the final two games of the 2020 season after he barreled into the outfield fence attempting to make a play in the first game of a doubleheader against the Nationals on Saturday. Smith finished his impressive 2020 breakout season with a .316/.377/.616 line, 10 home runs, 42 RBI, a 0.993 OPS, and a 1.7 WAR. He finished tied for second in the National League with 32 extra-base hits and second overall in the majors with 21 doubles. In addition, his slugging percentage of .616 was fourth-best in the National League. His season was even more impressive considering the fact that the Mets utilized him in a part time role for the first two weeks of the short season. Smith's dynasty and redraft value for 2021 has substantially increased based upon this 2020 breakout. In 2021, Smith should be locked in as a lineup regular for the Mets, either in left field, first base (when Pete Alonso is serving as designated hitter), or at DH.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
