Dominic Smith With Two More Doubles On Thursday
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith went 3-for-5 with two doubles in the Mets' 3-2 win over the Nationals on Thursday. Smith continues to build on what has become a bona fide breakout season for the 25-year old. He is now fourth in the National League with a 1.009 OPS and his 21 doubles are the most in Mets' history through the first 57 games of a season. He is hitting .322/.383/.626 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI for the season. He has three more regular-season games in which he can build on these impressive numbers. Smith's dynasty/keeper and redraft value for 2021 has substantially increased based upon this 2020 breakout which follows what was also a successful part-time 2019 campaign. Smith should be locked in as a lineup regular for the Mets, either in left field, first base (when Pete Alonso is designated hitter), or at DH, in 2021.
