Donovan Solano and Wilmer Flores Could Fight For Playing Time
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants second basemen Donovan Solano and Wilmer Flores may have to battle with each other for playing time this season, per McCovey Chronicles' Brady Klopfer. Third base and shortstop seem to be occupied for the Giants, leaving just second base for the two players. The two have somewhat similar offensive profiles, with Solano hitting more for average (.326/.365/.463 slash line in 2020) and Flores hitting more for power (.268/.315/.515 slash line). Solano may have the early advantage, as he has put together an impressive .421/.476/.711 slash line with three home runs this spring. That being said, both would be solid options in the Giants lineup. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, both players' fantasy values would drop if they end up sharing playing time.
