4 years agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Donovan Solano rejoins the team’s lineup Friday against the A’s and left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Solano had been out of the mix since Aug. 10, yet he still leads the Majors with nine doubles. The early part of the 2020 year has been a breakout for the veteran, who is batting a staggering .458 while producing a 214 OPS+. Aggressive owners have likely already snagged Solano in season-long formats, but his return directly to the No. 2 spot in the order indicates the role that San Francisco will utilize him in going forward. Whether this pace is sustainable remains to be seen, but after hitting .330 in 81 games last year, it’s no longer a small sample size.--Jesse Borek
