6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes defenseman Dougie Hamilton posted an assist with a plus-one rating and a team-best seven shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also was the first shooter in the extra session, and he beat Matt Murray for the only goal of the shootout. Hamilton also extended the league's longest active streak with at least one shot on goal in his 237th consecutive game. Next up for the Hurricanes is a visit from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.--Daniel Dobish
