7 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz (forearm) had an MRI that revealed a flexor strain, according to Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald. There is no certainty on how much time he will have to rest, but he said he’s not too worried. “Consistent with what I felt.” Mastrodonato also reported that it seems every player who had a flexor strain last year missed at least six weeks except Pomeranz, who got a late start after a stem-cell injection in his elbow and then missed the minimum 10 days on the disabled list to start the 2017 season. The diagnosis then was a left forearm flexor strain. Ian Browne of MLB.com also reported that it was a mild flexor tendon strain in his left elbow. Though the Red Sox are hopeful Pomeranz can still start the season on time, he will get re-evaluated on Tuesday and won't throw again before that. "Just the flexor tendon strain. No structural damage," said Red Sox manager Alex Cora after a 5-3 loss to the Yankees. "We'll see Tuesday. At this time, we feel pretty confident he's going to be fine." As of now, we will wait and see what happens.  --Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
