Drew Smyly Might Have Opener Preceding Him
6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Drew Smyly is scheduled to make his next appearance on Saturday on the road against the Houston Astros. The team is reportedly weighing the possibility of using an opener, either Ariel Jurado or Kyle Dowdy to start, with Smyly coming on after that. Smyly has been dismal, posting a 0-2 record, 6.63 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through five starts. The only thing fantasy owners like about the southpaw is his 24 strikeouts over 19 innings. Right now, he is only worth a look as a desperation AL-only fantasy option in deeper leagues.
