4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starter Drew Smyly (finger) was put on the 10-day injured list with a left index finger strain. It was expected that Smyly would miss some time after experiencing discomfort in his finger during the fifth inning of his start on Saturday. The 31-year-old looked good, striking out seven and allowing just two runs in four innings. It's hopefully not an injury that will keep him out for too long. In a corresponding move, the Giants called up right-hander Andrew Triggs and Jandel Gustave was designated for assignment. Trevor Cahill could potentially be in line for a spot start.--Tim Capurso
