6 years agoTexas Rangers left-handed starting pitcher Drew Smyly was rocked for seven earned runs, eight hits and two walks with just two strikeouts and three homers allowed over 3 1/3 innings in a loss against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Smyly sunk to 1-4 on the season with a 7.93 ERA and 1.86 WHIP across 42 innings over eight starts and two relief appearances. It's uncertain how long the Rangers can stand to wait for Smyly to turn it around, but fantasy owners needn't be as patient with him. Drop him and let the lefty be someone else's problem. If he gets another start it will come Sunday against Frankie Montas and the visiting Oakland Athletics.--Daniel Dobish
