3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Drew Smyly (knee) will make his regularly scheduled start on Thursday against the New York Mets, David O'Brien of The Athletic reported on Tuesday. Smyly exited last Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to pain in his left knee but has suffered no lingering effects. This is good news for fantasy managers given the 32-year-old southpaw has improved down the stretch, recording a 2.66 ERA with 20 strikeouts while giving up 10 walks over 20 1/3 innings pitched in the month of July.--Chelena Goldman
