Drew Smyly Will Start On Saturday For Chicago
3 years agoChicago Cubs left-hander Drew Smyly will start on Saturday for the team against the San Diego Padres, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. Smyly joined the Cubs as a free agent after spending the 2021 season with the Atlanta Braves. In 126.2 innings for Atlanta, the left-hander posted a 4.48 ERA and a 5.11 FIP. He also struck out 117 batters while giving up just 41 walks. Smyly will join a Cubs rotation that also includes Kyle Hendricks, Marcus Stroman, Alec Mills, and Wade Miley. As of right now, he's likely only a fantasy option for managers in deeper leagues who need innings.
