5 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) may be done for the season after being transferred to the 60-day injury list on Monday. His career also could be in jeopardy. The 35-year-old, who was with the Portland Sea Dogs on an injury rehab assignment, left the team's game on Friday and was scratched from Saturday's contest as he continued to battle knee issues that have given him problems since 2017. Pedroia was on his third rehab assignment of the season and was just 3-for-21 at the plate with five strikeouts during this stint, which started May 17. If this is indeed the end of the road for the two-time World Series champion, he had a good run, as he is a four-time All-Star as well as a four-time Gold Glover and the 2008 American League MVP.--Daniel Benjamin
