7 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) is scheduled to play six innings Monday in Pawtucket, according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic. He begins his rehab assignment after a lengthy recovery from knee surgery. The plan is for Pedroia to DH on Tuesday as well. Second base has been a very poor performing position this year and Pedroia could provide some surprising stability after a couple of years of declining performance from him. It also comes at a time that the Red Sox need someone with the defensive chops to limit errors at the keystone.
