4 years agoWashington quarterback Dwayne Haskins has more competition in the QB room, but is embracing the return of Alex Smith and views it as an opportunity for both players to improve. Smith, who suffered a devastating leg injury in 2018, has been activated off the PUP list and has been clear for football activities. Smith has been a successful starter in this league so the leash will be shorter if Haskins struggles, but both QBs have said the right things about wanting to help each other and Smith was already helping mentor Hasking last season. The second-year QB will still have the first crack at the starting job and improved late last season with five touchdowns to one interception in his last five games.
