7 years agoFormer Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Dwight Freeney is expected to sign a contract with the team and immediately retire, per Mike Wells of ESPN. Colts fans should have many fond memories of Freeney, as he spent the first 11 years of his career in Indianapolis and eventually formed one of the best pass-rushing tandems in the entire NFL alongside Robert Mathis. After accumulating 107.5 sacks in his career with the Colts, Freeney would go on to play for the Chargers, Arizona, Atlanta, Detroit and Seattle en route to 125.5 career sacks (tied for 17th in NFL history). With the Colts eyeing pass rusher Bradley Chubb in the 2018 NFL draft, one can only hope that the team can find another player to make as much of an impact on the line as Freeney.--TMax-12
