Dylan Carlson Could Return Friday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said the team has been happy with outfielder Dylan Carlson's (hamstring) progress. He is receiving the day off on Thursday, and if his left hamstring passes all of the tests, he'll rejoin the team in St. Louis on Friday. Carlson has gone 5-for-13 (.385) with a home run and four RBI in five minor league rehab games with Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis and looks ready to come off the injured list this weekend. The 23-year-old got off to an ice-cold start at the plate and was removed from the leadoff spot, but he was looking better at the plate before his injury, and he's hitting .247/.291/.363 with two homers, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored and one stolen base in 39 games. Carlson will return to an everyday role in St. Louis.
