4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson went 2-for-2 with a walk and his first home run of the spring against the Houston Astros on Saturday. The young prospect had a rough start to the year but is now hitting .258 (8-for-31) with two extra-base hits and a BB-K of 4-9. His main issue is that he's hitting far too many balls on the ground which has negated his power potential. Last season at the MLB level, Carlson struggled with a 65 wRC+ and a 29% strikeout rate in 35 games. He's expected to be the club's starting right fielder on opening day and has 20+ home run potential over a full season. Carlson is ranked by Rotoballer as the second-best outfield prospect and third-best prospect overall for 2021 redraft leagues.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
