4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease got off to a rough start during Thursday's outing. After four innings, Cease had four walks compared to strikeouts, though he proceeded to fan four of the last five batters he faced to finish with six whiffs on the day. The 25-year-old allowed one run in his five innings of work, tossing 94 pitches. Cease has had trouble keeping the basepaths empty in his career, as evidenced by his 1.50 WHIP in two seasons, but it was a good sign to see him finish his outing strong the way he did, which he credits to a small mechanical change he made. He has the pitch arsenal and potential to be a big-time pitcher for the White Sox- and fantasy managers- though he'll need to have a better command of the strike zone if his potential is to be reached.--Tim Capurso
