Eagles Ink Jordan Matthews, Interested In Jeremy Maclin?
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receiver Jordan Matthews on Wednesday morning to aid their depleted receiving corps. Matthews, who spent his first three seasons with the Eagles, worked out for the team on Tuesday. Matthews spent this past training camp with the Patriots, but was released with an injury designation as he suffered a hamstring injury during the first few days of practice. The fifth-year receiver has accumulated 250 receptions, averaging 11.8 yards per catch and 20 touchdowns over 56 career appearances. The addition of Matthews gives the Eagles four healthy receivers heading into Week 3 -- Nelson Agholor, Shelton Gibson and Kamar Aiken are the others. But the Eagles may not be done adjusting their roster, as NBC Sports reported that the team is interested in hosting veteran wideout Jeremy Maclin for a tryout. However, there are reports that Maclin has a leg issue that could push the workout to a later date. The 30-year-old has shown to be a reliable pass-catcher, hauling in 40 receptions and three touchdowns in 12 games for Baltimore last season.
