Eagles Re-Sign Derek Barnett
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles re-signed defensive end Derek Barnett to an undisclosed two-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Barnett had a career-high 46 tackles (20 solo), seven tackles for loss and 11 QB hits, but he also recorded a career-low two sacks in 16 games (15 starts) in his fifth season in Philadelphia. The 25-year-old former first-round pick has 21.5 career sacks in 64 games (45 starts) and will likely be rotated along the Eagles defensive line with Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat. Barnett has never totaled more than 6.5 sacks in a single NFL season, though, so he shouldn't be on the fantasy radar in IDP formats.
