Eddie Rosario Signs With Cleveland
4 years agoFree-agent outfielder Eddie Rosario agreed to a one-year, $8 million deal with the Cleveland Indians late on Friday. Rosario is coming off a successful 2020 campaign where he hit .257/.316/.476 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI in just 231 plate appearances with Minnesota. Rosario, who will be assured of a corner outfield starting role on the Indians, will now call Progressive Field home. While Rosario won't be hitting against Indians' pitching, he notably owns a career .353/.379/.653 line with 11 HR and a 1.031 OPS in 177 plate appearances at Progressive Field. Though the move to a less potent lineup could potentially hurt RBI production, this may be offset by the shift to a better ballpark situation. Rosario should remain a consistent source of HR and RBI, with a batting average around .270 and 5-10 stolen bases, for managers selecting him as their OF 2/3 around pick 115.
