Eduardo Escobar Continues To Mash
7 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Eduardo Escobar continued his excellent season against the Cleveland Indians on Friday. Escobar went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI to help down Cleveland 7-4. The young shortstop blasted a three-run homer off of Cleveland starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco in the first inning and added a solo shot off of Josh Tomlin in the seventh. Escobar is now batting .272 with an .850 OPS, 10 homers, and 30 RBI. Not even considered the team's starting shortstop until Jorge Polanco's preseason PED suspension, it appears unlikely that Escobar will relinquish the position anytime soon.
