Eduardo Escobar Dealing With Minor Quad Strain
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eduardo Escobar (quad) has been diagnosed with a slight right quad strain, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. Manager Torey Lovullo said that Escobar is expected to be able to manage it and play through the injury, adding that he will be available off the bench on Monday night. Escobar has bounced back nicely at the plate this year following a disappointing 2020 campaign, as he is now slashing .240/.288/.455 with 15 home runs, 45 RBI and 37 runs scored over 70 games this season. Consider Escobar day-to-day for now, as the Diamondbacks will turn to Asdrubal Cabrera for the start at third base on Monday night.
