2 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Eduardo Escobar became the first Met to hit for the cycle in 10 years on Monday night in the win over the San Diego Padres. "It's unbelievable," said Escobar, who finished 4-for-5 with six RBI in the Mets 11-5 win over the Padres. "It's hard, hitting the cycle at this level. Today is a special night for me." As recently as May 21, Escobar was hitting .203, but he has since broken out with three home runs, multiple four-hit nights and a .333 average in his last 14 games. He became the 28th switch-hitter in MLB history to hit for the cycle, and the first since Jonathan Villar in 2019. The 33-year-old is now hitting .241/.311/.414 on the season with five home runs, 24 RBI and 27 runs scored in 53 games. Continue to ride the hot streak.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
