Eduardo Escobar Launches Seventh Homer
7 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Tuesday to help down the St. Louis Cardinals. Escobar, batting cleanup, took Cardinals reliever Tyler Lyons deep in the seventh inning for his seventh round-tripper of the season. Escobar is off to an excellent start in 2018, batting .313 with a .993 OPS, seven homers, 23 runs, 20 RBI and one steal. The 80-game performance-enhancing drug suspension for last year's shortstop Jorge Polanco before the season pushed Escobar into an everyday role, a role which he might not relinquish even once Polanco is reinstated from the suspended list. Escobar needs to be owned in all leagues due to his exceptional power numbers at the shortstop position.
